Tyler Harris has committed to play for head coach Mark Byington and Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball.
The 6’8 guard averaged 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.9 block and 1.0 steals per game in his only season at the Power Four level with Washington in 2024-25. He shot a stellar 49.2% from the field and 49.5% from downtown (on 1.5 makes per game), as well. Harris is a well-rounded player who will play a significant role for the Black and Gold.
It was a down year for the Huskies overall, but Harris was a bright spot. He scored 15-plus points 8 times and dropped 27 and 24 points in back-to-back games against eventual NCAA Tournament team Colorado State and Alcorn State back in November.
Harris spent his first year of college at Portland in 2023-24, where he averaged 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
The Hayward, California, native is athletic and has an innate ability to finish around the rim while also spacing the floor, making him an excellent fit in Byington’s fast-paced scheme.
