Vanderbilt forward Tyler Harris is entering the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports. The junior played just one season in Nashville, averaging 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on 40.4% shooting from the field.

He was expected to be a key part of head coach Mark Byington’s rotation after a stellar sophomore season at Washington, where he made 49.5% of his 3-point shots. Harris started the year hot — scoring double-digit figures in each of the first five games of the season. He lost his shooting touch after that, though, and never again found confidence in his shot while donning Black and Gold.

Harris largely lost his minutes as the season went on and did not touch the floor in the postseason. Now, he will look to find a new home at his fourth school in four years.

The departure of Harris marks the fourth Commodore to hit the portal this offseason, along with George Kimble, Jaylon Dean-Vines and Frankie Collins. This is in addition to the end of eligibility for Tyler Nickel, Devin McGlockton, Jalen Washington and Duke Miles, as Tyler Tanner’s NBA Draft decision still awaits.

Byington will have to rebuild the entire roster for the third year in a row.
