Vanderbilt Athletics announced that renovations to Hawkins Field will begin “immediately,” per release. These renovations were announced back in May of 2023 as part of the $300 million investment into the Vandy United campaign. The construction timeline was unclear until today’s statement was released.
The Hawkins Field footprint will now encompass approximately 50,000 square feet of new or enhanced space, including student-athlete resources, additional capacity, premium seating and expanded food and beverage options. Newly announced amenities include a Party Deck 360 Bar and a Taste of Nashville Market featuring grab-and-go options.

“Tim Corbin’s VandyBoys set the bar for excellence, and with Vandy United, we’re bringing that same standard to Hawkins Field,” athletic director Candice Lee said. “The transformation of this beloved home for Vanderbilt Baseball is a central part of the Frist Athletics Village — our vision for facilities that match our aspirations and enrich Nashville’s thriving sports community. And we’re asking our community of supporters to continue to support and invest. We appreciate Commodore Nation helping us push forward.”
Player facilities will also be enhanced with 10,000 square feet devoted to a new weight room and pitching lab.
“I’m grateful to everyone who has supported this project—and especially to our former players who nurture the sense of family that makes our program successful by giving back,” head coach Tim Corbin said. “Hawkins Field is special to us and to the supporters who stand by our team year after year. We couldn’t fulfill our mission of building these young men to lead in their chosen field without the support of this community. I appreciate that we will have the tools to go on teaching in a home that our fans will be excited to share with us on game days.”
Despite construction beginning immediately, the Commodores will continue to use Hawkins Field during the 2026 season.
Vanderbilt returns to action on Friday, Oct. 17 for the David Williams Fall Classic, as it takes on Murray State at 4:30 p.m. CDT.
