Texas transfer Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda has committed to Shea Ralph and Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball, per Talia Goodman of On3 Sports.
The 6’2 guard was a former ESPN four-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American Nominee. She was also the 2022 Gatorade South Dakota Player of the Year and the No. 34 overall recruit in her class. After excelling at the high school level, she brought her talents to Texas.
A three-year player with the Longhorns, Mwenentanda averaged 5.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game this past season. She recorded double digit points in eight games and set a season-high 19 points against Illinois in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
This commitment is Vanderbilt’s second of the offseason, and Mwenentanda will join LSU transfer Aalyah Del Rosario in Nashville. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native is an efficient rebounder and will add another scoring threat to Ralph’s offense. She’ll bring defensive size to protect the rim and some much-needed NCAA postseason experience — as Texas made a Final Four run this past season.
