Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball has landed its first transfer of the offseason, with former LSU backup center Aalyah Del Rosario announcing her commitment to Vanderbilt via Instagram on April 21.
Del Rosario, standing at 6’6, brings some much-needed size to the Commodores’ frontcourt. While she played behind other prolific posts at LSU and saw limited action (she averaged 2.0 points and 2.o rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game this past season), she brings two years of Elite 8 experience to Vanderbilt’s program. She has two years of NCAA eligibility left.
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Del Rosario moved to the U.S. at 12 years old and developed into a 5-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American. She played high school basketball at The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee and was ranked No. 7 in her signing class. She joins Justine Pissott and Jordyn Oliver as the third McDonald’s All-American Shea Ralph has signed out of the transfer portal over the past four years.
