Sesquicentennial Ceremony and Celebration
Vanderbilt’s Sesquicentennial Ceremony and Celebration continued the university’s commemoration of its founding in 1873 and opening in 1875. The Oct. 3 event featured remarks from Nashville and Vanderbilt leaders reflecting on Vanderbilt’s 150-year history and partnership with the city. Country artist Lainey Wilson performed at Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 2. Wilson’s performance blended high-energy, arena-filled confidence with moments of heartfelt vulnerability. She moved seamlessly through her music to make the packed arena feel more personal.
The Lumineers also performed at Bridgestone Arena this week as part of their “Automatic World Tour.” Moments from the night featured their signature folk-rock style, emotive lyrics and a lineup of their biggest hits like “Ho Hey” and “Ophelia” with new material from their latest album, “Automatic.”
