Kijani Wright is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, per Sam Kayser of League Ready.
Wright transferred to the Commodores after his first year of college during the 2023-24 season, when he averaged 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game with USC. He was originally projected to be Vanderbilt’s starting center in 2024-25, but a non-basketball health issue kept him sidelined for the entire season.
The 6’9 Los Angeles, California, native was a former four-star recruit who played with Lebron James Jr. at Sierra Canyon in high school.
Vanderbilt brought in size reinforcements this offseason, recruiting Mason Nicholson and Jaylen Washington out of the transfer portal. Wright will likely look to go somewhere with less size in the locker room. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
