BREAKING: New policy announced for post game celebrations in Memorial Gymnasium

Following each game in Memorial Gymnasium, a timer will display for 60 seconds and fans will then be permitted on the court for 30 minutes.

A policy was announced today providing guidelines for post game celebrations following men’s and women’s basketball games in Memorial Gymnasium.

Following the conclusion of every men’s and women’s basketball game, a timer will appear on the video boards. Once the 60 second timer expires and the court is clear of players and officials, fans will be permitted on the court for 30 minutes.

Vanderbilt has been fined a total of $750,000 this basketball season after fans stormed the court following wins against the University of Tennessee and the University of Kentucky. Fans also stormed the field after a win against the University of Alabama in football in October, costing Vanderbilt $100,000. Any further court stormings will bring a fine of $500,000.
