Students will not be allowed to camp on Wyatt Lawn Friday night to prepare for College GameDay Saturday morning, according to Vanderbilt Athletic’s College GameDay website. A designated area to wait for access to the pit will open beginning on Friday.
The student handbook prohibits “camping, sleeping, preparing to sleep, or any other gathering overnight outdoors on campus.” The policy was implemented following encampments outside Kirkland Hall in 2024. A university representative reaffirmed that there will not be an exception made for College GameDay.
“‘Camping’ means erecting, placing, maintaining, leaving, allowing to remain a tent, chair or other piece of furniture, raised tarp, lean-to, shack, or other temporary shelter or structure on campus grounds,” the website reads.
The opening time for the gate to the pit on Wyatt Lawn is to be announced.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
