Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball guard Jason Edwards was named to the 2024-25 All-SEC Third Team on March 10. Edwards earned the nod after a breakout season that saw him average 16.9 points per game, which led all Commodores. The junior also shot a career-best 43.4% from the field, 35.7% from 3-point range and 84.0% from the free throw line. Joining Edwards on the All-SEC Third Team is Chad Baker-Mazara, Mark Mitchell, Alex Condon and Sean Pedulla.
Edwards’s 524 total points this season ranked sixth in the SEC and he is Vanderbilt’s first All-SEC selection since Liam Robbins in 2023.
The Georgia native helped the Commodores to their best regular season (20-11, 8-10 SEC) since 2011-12. Among those wins was his 30-point game against TCU, 26 against Drake and 24 at Tennessee and Georgia. He also poured in 18 points in the Commodores’ home upsets of Tennessee and Kentucky.
All in all, the North Texas transfer eclipsed 15 points in 22 games this year, including nine contests with more than 20 points.
Edwards and the rest of the Black and Gold will take the court in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena on March 12 at 2:30 p.m. CDT as they look to make noise in the SEC Tournament.
