Men’s Basketball

Men’s basketball concluded its season after its last road game against No.15 Kentucky on March 5. Finishing with 4-14 in conference play and 9-23 overall, the Commodores had a rough season of men’s basketball, ending second-to-last in the SEC. Following the season, Tyrin Lawrence, Paul Lewis, Collin Smith and Jason Rivera-Torres entered the transfer portal. Additionally, Vanderbilt decided to fire the current men’s basketball coach Jerry Stackhouse and hire Mark Byington as the new coach for next season.

Lacrosse

Vanderbilt started off the season with a dominating 19-4 win against Central Michigan. The trend continued as the Commodores defeated Kennesaw State, improving their record to 10-0 all-time against the Owls.

Baseball

The VandyBoys have secured a record of 20-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play so far this season, blazing past most of its opponents. So far, they have played three series at home. The team had a series sweep against both Florida Atlantic and Auburn and took two of three against Gonzaga.

Game 1

Vanderbilt has a record of 4-0 across series openers at home this season, defeating FAU, Gonzaga, Illinois State and Auburn.

Game 2

The VandyBoys have clinched three out of four home series in the second game this season, dropping a Saturday matchup to FAU, but defeating Gonzaga, Illinois State and Auburn.

Game 3

Tim Corbin has coached a win in each home series this year, but the VandyBoys have only swept two out of four of these series, taking a loss in the rubber match to Gonzaga.

The VandyBoys came off of a season where they won the SEC championship. Coach Tim Corbin worked with the players to start the new season with a power-packed lineup. In most of the home games, VandyBoys succeeded in dominating the Hawk, giving Corbin his 1000th career win in the process.

Women’s Basketball

Coach Shea Ralph led the women’s basketball team to a successful season this year, finishing the regular season 23-10 overall and 9-7 in conference play. The team is No. 6 seed in SEC and took home accolades for All-SEC honors. The Commodores exited the SEC Tournament early after falling to the Gators, but earning a place in the NCAA Tournament was a step in the right direction. The ladies made it into the round of 64 after a First Four win against Columbia but fell to Baylor 80-63 in the following game.
