Why: Come learn how to effectively support the people in your life who are survivors of trauma.

What: A Day in Baghdad: Lifelong Leadership Lessons
When: Wednesday, November 7 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Where: Buttrick Hall 102
Why: The professor of Military Science for Vanderbilt Army ROTC, Lieutenant Colonel Mitchell, will discuss important leadership strategies he learned during his military service. Complimentary Chick-fil-A will be served.

What: Women’s Basketball vs. North Alabama
When: Tuesday, November 6 at 6 p.m.
Where: Memorial Gymnasium
Why: Come support the Vandy women’s basketball team as they play against North Alabama. The first 1,000 fans at the women’s game will be given a free t-shirt.
Who: Vanderbilt Athletics

What: Men’s Basketball vs. Winthrop
When: Tuesday, November 6 immediately following completion of the women’s game
Where: Memorial Gymnasium
Why: Come support the Vandy men’s basketball teams as they play against Winthrop. The  first 2,000 fans at the men’s game will be given a free t-shirt. Who: Vanderbilt Athletics

What: Latin American Film Festival
When: Wednesday, November 7 from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m.
Where: Gillette House Seminar Room
Why: The Center for Latin American Studies and The Ingram Commons will host a group discussion, led by Dr. Tiffany Patterson, on “The Good Life” and will provide dinner for all in attendance.

What: iDialogues
When: Thursday, November 7 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Sarratt 335
Why: Join other graduate and undergraduate students in an intergroup dialogue discussing the interactions between diverse social groups and how to become an agent for social change.

Why: Project 615, a company raising money for non-profits, is hosting a celebration of Nashville, complete with food trucks, art, games, a DJ and local vendors. Proceeds will be directed to local nonprofits.

When: Thursday, November 8 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why: Join Synapse for a discussion on brain self-care, games, and free ice cream.

What: The Diwali Showcase 2018: Ocean’s 8
When: Saturday, November 10 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Langford Auditorium
Why: Celebrate South Asian culture as hundreds of Vanderbilt performers and several guest acts perform a cultural dance showcase. Tickets are $5 for students and can be purchased at the Sarratt Box Office or through TicketWeb.

What: Vanderbilt Opera
When: Friday, November 9 from 8 to 11 p.m.
Where: Ingram Hall
Why: Admission is free to those who come support Vandy’s Blair students as they perform Leonard Bernstein’s Candide.

Why: Anybody and everybody is welcome to come relax during this wellbeing experience. No previous  experience or equipment required.

What: Flag Football Practice
When: Wednesday, November 7 from 4:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Why: Come sharpen up your flag football skills while hanging out with some of Vandy’s Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities.
