As we look ahead to the end of the semester, The Hustler staff members look back on their Thanksgiving Break this year. From Orlando to Dublin, they had restful vacations around the world.

This Thanksgiving Break, I headed to Orlando, Florida, to celebrate with family and friends. We enjoyed the sunny (though surprisingly chilly) weather and beautiful beach scenes and relaxed under the palm trees. On the final day of our trip, we visited Universal Studio Orlando’s new theme park: Epic Universe. Between the Parisian Harry Potter-themed world, a brand-new Nintendo-themed world, the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon and a monster-themed Dark Universe, the day was filled with fun, excitement and wonder. The park definitely exceeded my expectations, and I’m glad I got to experience it with some awesome people.

My Thanksgiving break was spent in Ireland as part of a Vanderbilt travel class. Our group visited Dublin and Belfast, where we participated in education workshops and learned about Ireland’s history and culture. We wrapped up the trip with a visit to the northern coastline, where we saw Giant’s Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. It was an incredible experience and so much fun to share with fellow Vanderbilt students.

I spent Thanksgiving Break back home in Minnesota. While there, I walked around downtown Minneapolis with my mom. It began to snow later in the week, and it was fun to see my favorite places coated in snow again. Thanksgiving Break went by too fast, but I’m excited to see more snow over Winter Break.
