Vanderbilt Athletics updated its student-ticketing policy via email at 4:33 p.m. CST today. The change, which comes ahead of Vanderbilt Football’s final regular season game against Tennessee on Nov. 30, will grant Vanderbilt’s seniors access to an early-claiming window.
“Because the game is Senior Day, and we will honor our graduating football student-athletes, we will provide early access for Vanderbilt seniors to claim tickets to the game,” the email read.
This differs from the policies that Vanderbilt Athletics enacted for the Commodores’ past two home games, which offered students priority based on the number of games they attended. This week’s early window will open exclusively for seniors at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Tickets will not be guaranteed for all seniors during this window. There are a limited number of early-access tickets available.
The regular claiming window for students will open on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 12:30 p.m. CST. All undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of seniority status or previous games attended, can claim their tickets during this window.
As was the case for Vanderbilt’s games against Texas and South Carolina, Vanderbilt Athletics will reserve seats for “several hundred more” students than the student section typically holds. This will include space in the North End Zone standing-room-only section. Previously downloaded tickets, including the all-in-one passes that students used for the first few games of the season, have been removed from mobile wallets. Students will need to claim a ticket specific to the Tennessee game.
Vanderbilt Athletics noted that they opened up the claiming process this week — as opposed to the week prior to the game as it did for the previous two home games — to allow students to adjust their travel plans and apply to stay in their campus housing.
“Student tickets are able to be claimed this week,” the email read. “This allows you to request access to your on-campus residence by the Friday deadline and to adjust travel plans if need be.”
The email also specified that students who are not planning to travel back from their Thanksgiving break to attend the game should not claim a ticket. It outlined that student tickets are not transferable and not available for resale.
“If you are not planning to come back early from the Thanksgiving break for the game – please do not claim a ticket,” the email read.
Vanderbilt Football will get some rest during its Week 12 bye week before traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to take on LSU on Nov. 23. They then return to Nashville, Tennessee, to host the Volunteers on Nov. 30.
