Vanderbilt’s home matchup with Tennessee on Jan. 12 has been postponed due to “a combination of positive [COVID-19] tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Vanderbilt basketball program,” according to a release from the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

It remains unclear when the game will be made up.

Vanderbilt men’s basketball was originally scheduled to play at Missouri on Tuesday, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 complications within Missouri’s program. Meanwhile, Tennessee’s Tuesday night contest with South Carolina was postponed due to COVID-19 within South Carolina’s program. In turn, the SEC amended its schedule on Saturday; the Commodores—already scheduled to play at Tennessee on Jan. 16—would first host the Volunteers on Jan. 12, and the two rival programs would play twice in a five-day span.

Vanderbilt (4-5) has not yet stated when it will return to play, and it remains unclear whether the Commodores will enter a two-week COVID-19 induced shutdown.

This story will be updated as more information is made available to The Hustler.
