Why: Explore different companies and career paths while scouting out next year’s internship. Over one hundred employers will be in attendance, so bring your resume, business-professional best and get ready to network.

What: Get the Scoop: Navigating Vandy PreMed
When: Stevenson 4309
Where: Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Why: American Medical Student Association board members will present information about how to best use campus resources, succeed in pre-med coursework and become a well-rounded medical school applicant. While the presentation is specifically geared towards first-years and transfer students, everyone is welcome.

What: Diverse ‘Dores Day 2018: ‘Dores Without Borders

Where: Sarratt Promenade
Why: Join a coalition of student orgs and identity spaces to explore how our reach and impact as members of the Vanderbilt community extends beyond the borders of campus. Participants will be able to play engaging and educational games, get free food and GME and receive Hip Hues T-shirts.

What: Holocaust Lecture Series Keynote: “Coexistence and Violence: Poles, Jews, and Ukrainians on Poland’s Eastern Borderlands
When: Tuesday, September 4 at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Flynn Auditorium at Vanderbilt Law School
Why: Learn about the triangular relationship between the Poles, Jews and Ukrainians, and how violent nationalist rhetoric caused the unraveling of their peaceful coexistence. The lecture will examine the external and domestic factors that impacted the community and ultimately lead to ethnic cleansing and violence.

Why: I AM features the work of thirty-one women from twelve Middle Eastern countries, visually celebrating the importance of the contributions women have made in the ongoing global quest for peace, harmony and tolerance.

What: 4th Annual Empanada Tasting
When: Wednesday, September 5 at 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: War Memorial Auditorium
Why: Try one of these empanadas and then try to argue that great food isn’t a work of art, I dare you. For $25, you can taste four empanadas of your choosing, a drink and dessert while exploring the flavor, culture and diversity of Middle Tennessee’s Latin American communities.
