No. 19 Georgia vs. Tennessee
The Vols have had trouble winning games lately. Like, a lot of trouble. After falling in heartbreaking (and kind-of hilarious) fashion to the Oklahoma Sooners and Florida Gators, they lost to the Arkansas Razorbacks last week at home. However, this time around, the Vols didn’t blow a fourth quarter lead to lose – they lost the lead in the third quarter this time. Meanwhile, Georgia got throttled by Alabama in Athens by a score of 38-10. This was after routing Southern, while the Bulldogs had a solid start to the season. Both of these teams have something to prove and it should be a fantastic game on Rocky Top with SEC East implications. Plus, if Tennessee loses again, Vanderbilt might not be the worst football team in the state again.
Arkansas vs. No. 8 Alabama
This matchup is perhaps the reverse of the last one. Both of these teams have found their swagger again following a rough stretch. Arkansas lost to Texas A&M in a tough overtime game before going into Neyland Stadium and beating Tennessee. Alabama was upset by Ole Miss in Week 3 before routing UL-Monroe and Georgia in the following weeks. The Crimson Tide definitely have the upper hand in this one, but with both teams building confidence, an upset could be in the cards.
Illinois vs. No. 22 Iowa
Iowa is 5-0. I’ll say that again, Iowa is 5-0. It just feels weird to write that. The Hawkeyes earned perhaps their biggest win of the season so far against No. 19 Wisconsin last week and will be looking to clinch bowl-eligibility with another win against Illinois. A touchdown with 10 seconds left in the game propelled Illinois to a victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers last week. With the way they’ve been playing, the Fighting Illini could be able to spoil Iowa’s hot start.
