Editor’s Note: This article was last updated on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 4:20 p.m. CT with a correction. A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Vanderbilt will admit a “limited” number of students for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

Vanderbilt athletics announced in a press release Monday that it will admit a “limited” number of undergraduate students to the Commodores’ home game against the Kentucky Wildcats on Wednesday.

Vanderbilt has played ten home games this season, half of them nonconference games, and for each has only allowed parents and families of student-athletes to attend. The athletic department did not specify what its attendance plan will look like for future home games.

The press release notes that Vanderbilt undergraduate students are tested for COVID-19 twice per week and are under “strict campus protocols to limit the spread of the disease.” The university will only permit a “limited” number of students from the senior class to attend.

Monday’s release did not specify exactly how many students may attend, nor did it provide insight on the ticket reservation process. However, a subsequent email from the Dean of Students’ office provided both a link to reserve tickets, along with safety precautions.

“All attendees must maintain physical distance from one another and follow Vanderbilt’s COVID-19 safety protocols, which will be strictly enforced,” the email reads. “While at the game, students must utilize the seats provided to ensure space for physical distancing between attendees.”
