Four-star point guard Anthony Brown has committed to Vanderbilt, per Joe Tipton of On3 Sports. The 6’1 guard is rated as the 49th-best player in the 2026 class by ESPN and chose the Commodores over his hometown team, Maryland, and the Indiana Hoosiers.
The guard impressed this season on the EYBL circuit, averaging 18.9 points and 4.7 assists per game for Team Durant. Brown is highly touted for his playmaking ability and quick step at the point guard position — both key qualities that Vanderbilt head coach Mark Byington has historically looked for in guards.
Notably, Brown met with Vanderbilt alumni and NBA All-Star, Darius Garland, on a recent official visit to Vanderbilt.
The Washington D.C. native joins Vanderbilt’s 2026 recruiting class that is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation according to 247sports, only trailing Missouri and Florida State. Byington previously earned commitments from four-star guard Ethan Mgbako and four-star center Jackson Sheffield, who stands at 6’9.
