Vanderbilt named Gianna Francesca Mosser the director of Vanderbilt University Press.
Mosser is the former editor in chief of Northwestern University Press. Her hiring comes after an ongoing national search since last fall, according to the Vanderbilt press release.
“The staff is eager and ready to develop a strategic plan that takes cues from the university faculty and draws on campus research strengths,” Mosser told Vanderbilt News in the release. “I am excited to expand the offerings of Vanderbilt University Press, and make our work more visible to communities of readers worldwide.”
The University Press was established in 1940. Its main task is to select, publish, and distribute scholarly works from the university.
