The Vanderbilt Commodores will celebrate their bowl berth with fans on Sunday, December 2nd from 6-7 PM at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility at the Recreation and Wellness Center, the team announced this week.
Doors open at 5:30 for the bowl celebration. Head coach Derek Mason and players will be on hand to preview Vanderbilt’s bowl appearance. The first 500 fans will receive a free T-shirt, and the first 1,000 fans will receive an “Our State” poster. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
The Commodores will find out their bowl destination on Sunday afternoon prior to the celebration. Projections are mixed as to which bowl they will end up in, as pundits have predicted they would play in the Birmingham Bowl, Belk Bowl, Music City Bowl, Liberty Bowl and even the Gator Bowl.
Vanderbilt clinched a bowl berth on Saturday with a dominant 31-13 win over Tennessee. It will be the program’s ninth bowl game in its history, with its last appearance in 2016 in the Independence Bowl against North Carolina State. The Commodores last won a bowl game in 2014 when they beat Houston in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
Parking will be available in the surface lots located across Natchez Trace from the Vanderbilt Track and Field Complex.
