What: Vanderbilt University Speakers Committee 54th Annual IMPACT Symposium
When: Monday, March 26 to Wednesday, March 28
Where: Langford Auditorium
Why: This year, Vanderbilt University’s Impact Symposium, one of the oldest lectures series of its caliber in the nation, features Tinder Sociologist Jessica Carbino, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, in collaboration with the Chancellor’s Lecture Series and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah correspondent Hasan Minhaj.

What: Combatting Limiting Parking and Saving Money: Public Transportation and the Vanderbilt Community
When: Wednesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Alumni 201
Why: This presentation will be given by students and member of Nashville Metro Transit Authority (MTA) on how to utilize the free MTA bus system from campus to key places in Nashville. Students will gain valuable experience navigating a major city while also reducing their carbon footprint and saving money.
Who: Students Promoting Environmental Awareness and Responsibility

What: Kitchen Table Series: Microaggressions in Everyday Life
When: Thursday, March 29 at 5 p.m.
Where: Sarratt 363
Why: Microaggressions are little comments or actions that can be jarring when on the receiving end of them. This event will discuss what microaggressions are and how to avoid these unintentional slights while maintaining open and productive dialogue.

When: Wednesday, March 28 at 3 p.m.
Where: Lacrosse/Soccer Complex
Why: Will the lacrosse team be able to hold off Oregon? Come to the game to find out.

What: Student of Color Affinity
When: Monday, March 26 at 12 p.m.
Where: Sarratt 335
Why: This event promotes open dialogue about what it means to be a student of color at Vanderbilt. In March, the discussion is centered around, “Seat at the Table: Prejudice, Racism, Politics and Society.” All students are welcome.
Who: Inclusion Initiatives and Cultural Competence

What: Jewish Food Festival
When: Wednesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Schulman Center for Jewish Life
Why: Join Hillel for its second annual Jewish Food Festival. Teams of students will make a variety of Jewish cultural recipes. All students are welcome.

What: QPOC Fishbowl
When: Wednesday, March 28 at 6 p.m.
Where: Kissam MPR 210
Why: This “fishbowl” will be made up of LGBTQI+ persons of color. Panelists will answer questions with each other as the audience observes, allowing the panelists to speak uninterrupted. Food is provided.

What: Big Man on Campus
When: Tuesday, March 27 at 6 p.m.
Where: Student Life Center
Why: Zeta Tau Alpha’s annual spring philanthropy event, Big Man on Campus, is a male pageant raising money for ZTA’s national philanthropy, breast cancer education and awareness. There will be food, intermission shows and the men of Vanderbilt University showcasing their talent.

What: Demi Lovato & DJ Khaled
When: Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Bridgestone Arena
Why: Singer, actress and activist stops in Nashville while on her world tour. Sorry not sorry, we’re just as excited to see DJ Khaled as well. Buy tickets here.

What: Momentum Dance Company Spring Showcase
When: Tuesday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Ingram Hall
Why: Momentum presents its show, “Slow Down Time.” Tickets are $5 and can be bought from Momentum members, the box office or on the Rand Wall.

What: Down The Street
When: Friday, March 30 at 8 p.m.
Where: Sarratt Cinema
Why: The Original Cast returns to the stage to perform Down the Street. Directed by sophomore Sydney Kaemmerlen, Down the Street explores macro-scale issues in the setting of a small town. With songs from Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Pippin, Next to Normal, Dogfight, Waitress and more, this show is bound to show that a small town in Texas can be a magical place.
