If you’re looking for a last minute getaway for spring break next week, there are several great destinations and adventurous attractions within driving distance from Nashville.

For somewhere within 1-2 hours of campus, check out:

• Franklin, TN (28 min) – Downtown Franklin is home to a variety of stores and attractions including antique shops, fashion boutiques, art galleries, farmers markets and restaurants. Historical attractions such as the Carnton Plantation, the Carter House and the Franklin Theatre are also quite popular.  
• Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky (1 hr, 25 min) – This park offers visitors the chance to experience Kentucky’s mile-long cave system of chambers and subterranean passageways. In addition to cave tours, the park offers horseback rides, kayaking, camping and much more. You can plan your visit and book adventures on the National Parks website.
• National Corvette Museum, Kentucky (1 hr, 9 min)  – Located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, this museum features over 80 Corvettes in periodic settings. The museum also has interactive trivia kiosks, a cafe and the NCM Motorsports Park.

4-5 Hours from Nashville:

• Cincinnati, OH (4 hr, 11 min) – Cincinnati is a booming, up-and-coming city that attracts visitors from all around the country. Downtown, the Cincinnati Banks is home to Great American Ballpark, several award-winning restaurants and Smail park, an outdoor park overlooking the river. The park is complete with a merry-go-round, water attractions and swings. Over-the-Rhine is another popular neighborhood where visitors can take historical tours of Cincinnati’s age-old underground tunnels or compete in trivia at one of the cities many beer gardens.
• Atlanta, GA (4 hr) – Only four hours from campus, Atlanta is a great destination for students looking to get away for a few days. A few of Atlanta’s attractions include the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, a museum entirely dedicated to the Coca-Cola brand.
• St. Louis, MO (4 hr, 31 min) – St. Louis offers endless adventures such as Gateway Arch National Park and the Butterfly House. Laclede’s Landing, where 19th century architecture meets 21st century dining and entertainment, is a popular spot for millennials to enjoy shopping during the day and shows and nightlife in the evening.
