Why: This roundtable discussion focuses on the role of arts and entertainment in Africa’s conflict transformation.

What: Vanderbilt UNICEF End Trafficking Week: Experts Panel Discussion
When: Friday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Alumni 201
Why: Human trafficking has been reported in all 50 states, and Nashville is a hub for it. In order to foster better understanding of human trafficking, its pertinence locally and globally and effective ways to combat it, the Vanderbilt University UNICEF Campus Initiative is excited to offer an experts panel event, bringing together various leaders in diverse fields specializing in understanding and combating human trafficking.

What: Tu B’shvat Shabbat
When: Friday, February 2 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Vanderbilt Hillel Schulman Center for Jewish Life
Why: Celebrating the “New Year of the Trees,” Shabbat will have an environmental theme and feature a special pre-dinner Seder.  The Seder, a type of holiday explanation, will be a short reflection on spirituality, the environment and a chance to try new and special foods. Who: Vanderbilt Hillel

What: Filipino Almusal Brunch
When: Saturday, February 3 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Multicultural Lounge (Sarratt 335)
Why: This opportunity invites Vanderbilt students to learn about the delicious breakfast traditions of the Philippines and how they are manifested in Filipino-American households. Brunch is included.

Why:  This mythical celebration will include an array of Grecian themed activities including a mechanical bull, an Oracle, carnival games, karaoke, crafts and a truly magical buffet.

When: Saturday, February 3 at 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why: Whatever your identity, you are invited to Queer Prom. Dance to great music, enjoy snacks, take photos at the photobooth and more. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, whether it’s pajamas or black tie attire.

Why: A Day in the Life is a chance for the Vanderbilt LGBT community to express itself through poetry, singing, visual art and spoken word. Come lend your voice to the continuing narrative of LGBT identity and self actualization.

What: VIBE Show 2018: Once Upon A VIBE: Dreams & Nightmares
When: Saturday, February 3 at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Why: VIBE’s 2018 performance will highlight original choreography by every single one of its members set to its theme “Once Upon A VIBE: Dreams & Nightmares.”

What: Trap Yoga Nashville
When: Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: Martha O’Bryan Center
Why: Join Nashville’s Trap Yoga class for an hour of yoga, Trap music and a little twerking. The flow will be led by Demita, and DJ Vue will spin the music. Tickets are $10-$15.
