The Vanderbilt Hustler

Kailey Newcome, Columnist

Kailey Newcome (‘21) is a Environmental columnist for the Vanderbilt Hustler. She has been on staff since first semester of freshman year. She is also the current Treasurer for Vanderbilt’s Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a student researcher at the Laboratory for Systems Integrity and Reliability.

Kailey is majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering in the School of Engineering. She is second author on a peer-reviewed journal article. She also authored a research paper for the American Society of Civil Engineers that placed third nationally this past summer. Kailey has spent the last 6 months working for DuPont on reliability testing of 3D-printed materials. In her free time, she enjoys working out, cooking, playing volleyball, playing with dogs and spending time with her friends.
