After a long week of midterms, I decided on a last-minute trip to the Beach Bunny concert. Going in only knowing three of the band’s biggest hits, I was pleasantly surprised by their vibrant energy on April 17. Fans gathered in Brooklyn Bowl for the “Tunnel Visions Tour” — named after “Tunnel Visions,” the band’s newest album, which will be released on April 25.
The show opened with a set from Pool Kids, an alternative rock band hailing from Tallahassee, Florida. The band played an energetic 30-minute set of rhythmically complex timing and technical guitar work.

“I just wanted to say if you ever wanted to start a band, you should do it. If we could do it, so can you,” Christine Goodwyne of Pool Kids said as they finished up their opening set.
About twenty minutes later, the crowd roared as Beach Bunny started playing the opening chords to “Cloud 9,” one of the band’s viral TikTok songs. From there, they played “Ms. California” and “Big Pink Bubble” before asking the audience to form a mosh pit and sing along to the choruses of “Weeds” and “Oxygen.”

“Can we get a [mosh] pit for this one? If we don’t, I’m gonna keep asking until it happens,” Lili Trifilo, the lead singer, joked.
Beach Bunny then played “Tunnel Vision” and “Vertigo,” two recent singles off their upcoming album. The band asked for the audience’s help in advertising the album’s upcoming release, encouraging them to post any videos they took at the show.

Beach Bunny also expressed appreciation to their longtime fans in the audience; band members gave a shout-out to a specific member of the audience, Lucas, who has been to all four of the band’s tours.
After a few more songs, all band members except for Trifilo exited the stage. Trifilo shared a beautiful rendition of “6 Weeks” with the crowd, a slow and emotional song off the “Prom Queen” EP. The band then united on stage to finish the concert off strong with their first song to go viral on TikTok, “Prom Queen.”
Throughout the evening, Beach Bunny performed their hearts out, creating a palpable electricity in the Brooklyn Bowl. The band’s lyrical authenticity was at the forefront of their set and was something any teenager could relate to at some point in their lives. By the last chord of the set, I felt so lucky I had decided to come to the show. I will definitely be listening to more of Beach Bunny’s music this upcoming finals week and looking forward to the release of “Tunnel Visions.”
