Vanderbilt athletics have their ups and downs as Commodores get ready for the end of school year.

Baseball

VandyBoys hosted three more home series on the Hawk against Missouri Tigers, Florida Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Commodores swept the Tigers, dropped one against the Gators and were upset by the unranked Bulldogs. They currently have an 11-11 record in conference play and are 32-14 overall. The Commodores secured home wins in all four non-series home matchups against Valparaiso, Middle Tennessee, UT Martin and Tennessee Tech.

Lacrosse

After a strong first-quarter performance in the season, Vanderbilt lacrosse lost 20-5 to the No. 11 Gators. After the game against Florida, the Commodores saw another loss against Coastal Carolina 10-8. The Commodores were only able to regain their momentum after outlasting East Carolina 14-13 and Cincinnati 14-9.

Soccer

Vanderbilt Soccer ended with a heartbreak in their 2023 season, falling 1-0 to rival Tennessee. The Commodores hosted spring playoffs as practice and are looking forward to the new season with two new transfers.

Track and Field

The Commodore Track and Field team competed in the Music City Challenge from April 26 to 27. The team has just made an appearance in the LSU Alumni Gold meet with numerous top-10 placements, multiple season bests and improvements to individual NCAA ranked performances.

Connor Campbell ('25) is a human and organizational development and cinema and media arts major from Staten Island, N.Y.
