Vanderbilt’s Class of 2027 completed their Road to Vanderbilt on Aug 19 as they moved onto the Commons to start their year. They moved in with the help of their RAs, VUceptors and loved ones before participating in the Founder’s Walk tradition on Aug. 20.

Move-in day

Starting at 7 a.m. CDT, the first-years in the Class of 2027 arrived on Commons where they were met by upperclassmen dressed in salmon shirts to move them into their new rooms. All 10 houses were bustling as students settled in for the fall semester.

Founders Walk

First year, transfer and Next Step students all filed onto Alumni Lawn for this year’s Founders Walk. An annual tradition for new students, they were greeted by many speakers, but notably not the VSG president, senior Sam Sliman, unlike past years. This year was also unmarked by the Divest protests of recent years.
