Shortly after Vanderbilt Football clinched a bowl berth for the second time in three seasons, Commodore fans were immediately hit with a curveball.

According to SB Nation, head coach Derek Mason’s name has come up in the Colorado coaching search. This isn’t the first time that a Vanderbilt coach has gone into a bowl game with rumors swirling about his future, but this one certainly was a surprise.
