On April 8, Graduate Workers United penned an open letter requesting additional support including funding extensions and coverage for COVID-19 and mental healthcare expenses. In response, university administrators have stressed the ‘decentralized’ nature of graduate education and encouraged students to find solutions with their individual schools, departments and mentors.
