This year’s Commons Ball theme was “Snow Place Like Vandy.” Students gathered at the Commons Center to enjoy a night of dancing, a silent disco, delicious food, caricature drawings and crafts.
The Commons House Programming Advisory Council presidents performed a short dance as the DJ played a mix of Christmas music followed by Crawford House President Shaan Patel welcoming all the attendees. Many students appeared captivated by the performance as they gathered around the dance floor.
This magical event brought students together for an evening of community. Many students enjoyed the evening alongside their friends, expressing a sense of excitement through laughter and smiles.
“I really enjoyed being able to destress and eat lots of good food,” first-year Xinyi He said. “I also loved spending time with my friends, dressing up and dancing.”
Dressing up allowed students to showcase different fashion choices. Many girls’ clothing pieces ranged from long silk dresses to short, minimalist dresses. Most guys opted to wear formalwear, but a few were captured wearing quarter-zips.
In true Nashville fashion, some students took the spotlight as they line-danced in unison to “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. The electrifying environment was accompanied by laughter, cheers and excitement that made for a memorable experience.
