I have never been the biggest coffee fan, but overhearing my friends chat about a viral limited-edition drink just moments away from campus was enough to pique my interest. Naturally, I had to go see for myself.
With fall in full swing, Nashville’s Uncle Kelly’s Coffee and Provisions wastes no time ringing in the holiday cheer. Their fall menu itself is enough to classify this as a festive shop, but their ability to “ghostify” any drink sets them apart.

Upon arrival, I was a bit skeptical because this is not a typical coffee shop. Tucked in the corner of Nashhouse Southern Spoon and Saloon, Uncle Kelly’s features a simple, no-frills ordering counter. There is no seating, unless you decide to snag a table at the actual restaurant. Yet, with the variety of offerings and the high quality of the product, I can confidently say that it deserves a spot on your must-try coffee list.

To fully embrace the experience, I saw no other option but to “ghostify” a drink from the fall menu. After much consideration, I landed on the “Campfire Caramel” iced coffee. Made with caramel and toasted marshmallow syrups and topped with marshmallow cold foam and crushed graham cracker, this is a no-joke situation. In addition to this, I just had to add the ghosts, which are simply dollops of marshmallow fluff smeared on the sides of the cup. For a finishing touch, they use a sharpie to draw a little face so that it truly embodies a ghost. It is safe to say that it is not your average cup of joe.
As someone with an intense sweet tooth, I had no issue with a Campfire Caramel coffee at a ripe 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning. I even accompanied it with a double chocolate muffin, which, unfortunately, was quite underwhelming. It was dry and lacked that rich and decadent chocolate flavor that I was looking for. That being said, this mediocre muffin did not overshadow how delicious the coffee was. For the two items, the total was just under $15, which is a bit steep but no different from competitors such as La La Land.
Even if you are not into sugary drinks, I would still recommend this spot. You can “ghostify” a regular coffee and get the same experience. Moral of the story, “ghostifying” any drink takes it to the next level, and Uncle Kelly’s does it right. Be sure to check it out soon, as this is a seasonal offering that you do not want to pass up.
