Jaylen Carey has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, as first reported by Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.
Carey spent one year with Vanderbilt and averaged 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in just 20.2 minutes per game off the bench. The 6’8 forward was integral in Vanderbilt’s return to the NCAA Tournament this season. He led the Commodores to back-to-back home victories over Top 10 teams in Tennessee (14 points and 10 rebounds) and Kentucky (10 points and 6 rebounds) on Jan. 18 and 25, respectively. He also scored 18 points and grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds in another SEC win over Texas on Feb. 8.
Carey played just 15 minutes in the team’s March Madness loss to the Saint Mary’s Gaels, scoring 4 points and adding 2 rebounds. The Davie, Florida, native will now look for a new home for the 2025-26 season.
