Vanderbilt Baseball officially announced its 2025 nonconference slate on Nov. 7. These matchups will feature two trips to the West while bringing plenty of baseball to Nashville with 19 home games. Cumulatively — considering conference and nonconference games — the VandyBoys will play 30 of their 56 games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season and 12 against 2024 College World Series qualifiers.
The 2025 campaign will officially kick off on Feb. 14-16, when Vanderbilt plays in the MLB Desert Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona. The Desert Invitational will feature matchups against Grand Canyon, Nebraska and UC Irvine. Following their trip to Arizona, the VandyBoys will return to Hawkins Field for a pair of midweek matchups against Air Force on Feb. 18 and 19.
A quick turnaround will bring Saint Mary’s of California to town for a weekend series from Feb. 21-23. The Commodores will conclude their six-game home stint against Tennessee Tech on Feb. 25 before hitting the road again to compete in the 2025 Dodgertown Classic in Los Angeles, California.
The Dodgertown Classic will run from Feb. 28 to March 2 and host some of college baseball’s finest, as the VandyBoys will square off against UCLA, USC and UConn.
The Commodores will play another six-game homestand following their trip to the West Coast ahead of their first SEC matchup in Auburn. The homestand includes single-game matchups against Evansville (March 4), St. Bonaventure (March 5) and Valparaiso (March 11), along with a weekend series against Xavier (March 7-9).
Vanderbilt will also host seven nonconference midweek matchups amidst SEC play. In March, these games will feature crosstown rival Belmont (March 18) and Eastern Kentucky (March 25). Western Kentucky (April 1), Dayton (April 8), Lipscomb (April 15), Middle Tennessee (April 22) and Indiana State (April 29) will all make trips to Nashville in April.
To round out their nonconference schedule, the VandyBoys will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to face the Louisville Cardinals in the annual Battle of the Barrel before returning to West End for their final regular-season matchup against Kentucky.
