Ahead of the Commodores’ season opener, Vanderbilt athletics confirmed that shooting guard Tyrin Lawrence would not suit up in Vanderbilt’s matchup against Presbyterian on Tuesday. The detail of Lawrence’s injury has yet to be announced, but the senior was spotted on Vanderbilt’s campus with a walking boot on his right foot on Tuesday morning. In the 2022-23 season, Lawrence averaged 13.1 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game for the Commodores.
Paul Lewis will replace Lawrence in Jerry Stackhouse’s starting lineup. The combo guard will look to get his season started off on the right foot after a promising freshman year.
Lawrence’s timetable to return has not been announced.
