On Aug. 31, Clark Lea announced an update to the Vanderbilt football roster. Daniel Martin—a four-star linebacker who was Vanderbilt’s highest-rated commit in the class of 2022—and Maurice Edwards were dismissed from team duties on Wednesday. Edwards and Martin didn’t play on Saturday but were poised to make a strong impact for the Commodores in the future.

“It’s never a fun aspect of a good day when you have to make these decisions,” Lea said. “With respect to what it means moving forward, this program is going to be fine, we’re not defined by any one person in the program.”

Later on Wednesday, at around 4 p.m. CDT, Vanderbilt men’s basketball released their 2022-2023 nonconference schedule.
