Why: Physicians for Human Rights is hosting its annual winter clothing drive. Donation boxes are set up in the student lounge.

When: Saturday, January 13 at 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Fisk University
Why: The day will begin at Fisk University with a shared meal and a brief program before participants are bussed to various service sites around Nashville, where they will spend the day volunteering.

What: Ron Campbell
When: Saturday, January 13 at 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Where: Bennett Galleries
Why: Ron Campbell, director of the 1960s Saturday Morning Beatles Cartoon series and animator of the Beatles film Yellow Submarine will make a rare personal appearance. Campbell will showcase his original Beatles cartoon paintings created specially for the show and create new Beatles pop art paintings at the exhibit. Ron will also feature other artwork based on his 50-year career in cartoons including Scooby Doo, Rugrats, Smurfs, Flintstones, Jetsons and more.

What: Salsa and Bachata Lessons
When: Sunday, January 14 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Lucas Latin Dance Company
Why: In this weekly Latin dance workshop, students will work on improving the quality of their dancing by adding smooth body movement, intricate footwork and clean turn patterns. There will be two instructors teaching so that all levels can learn at the same time. Class is $10.

When: Friday, January 12 at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Why: VanderTILTED is Vanderbilt University’s SMASH weekly event built for Vandy students to get better and have fun on Friday nights. Of course, non-vandy students are welcome to come! Entry is free, and there will be prizes.

What: Cooking Class with Chef Maneet Chauhan
When: Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Chauhan Ale and Masala House
Why: Participants will be paired in a small group and will prepare one of five courses, including a mixology course with the chef herself. After everything is completed, everyone will sit down and enjoy the fruits of their labor along with beverage pairings. Each participant will receive a packet of Chef Chauhan’s recipes so you can try them at home.
