With deep house DJ duo Loud Luxury headlining the event, Lights on the Lawn will continue its tradition with its ninth annual festival in 2021. Due to COVID-19, the concert will take place virtually Friday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. CST.
Since 2012, Vanderbilt’s annual Lights on the Lawn benefit concert has worked diligently and creatively to raise money for Nashville’s Mary Parrish Center.
Lights on the Lawn has sold more than 15,000 tickets and raised more than $658,000 for the Center and other Nashville nonprofits over the last nine years. An organization that provides victims of interpersonal violence with transitional housing, the Mary Parrish Center has helped more than 7,000 domestic violence victims in the Nashville area since its inception in 2002, as stated by the organization’s webpage.
Lights on the Lawn currently stands as the Mary Parrish Center’s largest non-governmental form of financial support. This year’s donations will go toward childcare, therapy, health needs and move-out assistance for victims of domestic violence.
Loud Luxury, the event’s headliners, consists of Joe De Pace and Andrew Fedyk. The pair has more than 9 million monthly Spotify listeners and 750 million streams on their hit song “Body.” Additional artists have yet to be announced.
The concert will be streamed by some of Nashville’s “best production and broadcasting companies,” including Camp Digital and ScreenWorks, according to a statement from the event’s GoFundMe page.
Lights on the Lawn has raised $19,474 of their $25,000 goal through GoFundMe thus far for this year’s event. Access to the live stream is free, but students can choose to make a donation to the Mary Parrish Center before accessing their tickets.
