Students can get free Rand cookies this Friday Sept. 6 at 11:30 a.m. in Rand Dining Hall while supplies last. This event marks the beginning of Campus Dining’s “Free Fridays” initiative, in which they will be giving away free items every Friday in September.

Rand cookies have become a staple of the dining hall, notably since last year when Dining removed the cookies. After petitions and student pushback, however, the cookies were quickly brought back.

Free Fridays were started with the hopes of fostering a sense of community and giving students a way to unwind after a stressful week, according to Campus Dining Marketing Manager Jessica Williams.

Earlier this week, Campus Dining partnered with Coca Cola to give away free drinks to students who took a photo with a Coca Cola backdrop. Campus Dining is planning similar events to engage with the Vanderbilt community in the future, according to Williams.
