Vanderbilt men’s basketball game against Texas A&M postponed due to COVID-19

The Commodores sixth game of the 2020-21 season has been postponed due to COVID-19 complications within the Texas A&M program.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced Tuesday that the Feb. 4 matchup between Vanderbilt and Texas A&M has been postponed.

“[The game was postponed due to] a combination of positive [COVID-19] tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Texas A&M basketball program,” according to the SEC press release.

The game marks Vanderbilt’s sixth postponement or cancellation of the season due to COVID-19, three conference games and three non-conference games. The Commodores previous matchup with the Aggies on Jan. 20 was postponed due to COVID-19 complications in the Vanderbilt program.

The Commodores (5-8, 1-6) are coming off a dominant 93-81 victory on Jan. 30 but will have to wait until Saturday to take the court once again as they travel to Athens to take on Georgia at noon CT.

The SEC has not announced makeup dates for any of Vanderbilt’s cancellations at this time.
