What: Mark Zuckerberg’s War on Free Will: How Big Tech Threatens the Individual
When: Friday, February 16 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Flynn Auditorium
Why: Franklin Foer is a national correspondent for The Atlantic, a New America Foundation Fellow, former editor of The New Republic and author of World Without Mind. Foer will be discussing Mark Zuckerberg’s War on Free Will: How Big Tech Threatens the Individual.

What: Financial Literacy: $mart Habits that $ave Money
When: Friday, February 16 at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Buttrick Hall 305
Why: The Center for Student Wellbeing and the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships invite all undergraduate students to an interactive financial literacy workshop. During this workshop, students will learn how to apply budgeting and money-saving concepts, establish a good credit rating, understand student accounts and more.

Why: Come support the Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball team as they take on Florida.

What: Nashville Predators vs. Detroit Red Wings
When: Saturday, February 17 at 7 p.m.
Where: Bridgestone Arena
Why: Watch the Predators defeat Detroit for an evening downtown.

What: Nachde Nashville IV
When: Saturday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Langford Auditorium
Why: Nachde Nashville, the biggest bhangra competition in the South, is back for its fourth year. Eight bhangra teams from across the country light up the stage accompanied by guest performances from campus organizations.
Who: South Asian Cultural Exchange

What: Spring Festival Gala
When: Saturday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Student Life Center Ballrooms
Why: The VUCSSA Spring Festival celebration is an annual event held by Vanderbilt University Chinese Students and Scholars Association to celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year. This event costs $15 for dinner and the show.

What: Dance Marathon Big Event
When: Saturday, February 17 at 11 a.m. to 12:15 a.m.
Where: Field House
Why: The Big Event is VUDM’s culminating event of the year that celebrates our fundraising efforts, as well as the children and families at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The purpose of the event is to “dance for those who can’t” for 13.1 hours for one final fundraising push to hit the $300,000 goal.

What: Vandy’s Next Top Model
When: Sunday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Student Life Center Ballroom
Why: VPRS is hosting its annual fashion show at Vanderbilt’s Student Life Center. Proceeds from the show will benefit Safe Haven Family Shelter, a Nashville community leader that houses families experiencing homelessness.

What: The Pigeoning
When: Friday, February 16 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, February 17 at 7 p.m.

Why: Hailed by The New York Times as “a tender, fantastical symphony of the imagination,” Robin Frohardt’s The Pigeoning is a Bunraku-style puppetry theater production performed by five puppeteers with an original score.

What: Anna Jensen: The Bait Hides The Hook: Artist Talk
When: Saturday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Gallery Luperca
Why: The talk will explore the haunting, vibrant and symbolic works of Atlanta-based artist Anna Jensen as she describes her process, inspiration and intent.

Why: The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, friends, organizations and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by plunging into the icy waters of Tennessee.

What: #Me Time Yoga
When: Saturday, February 17 at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Black Cultural Center
Why: Destress with a yoga class conducted by a certified instructor.
