Earlier today, Vanderbilt Programming Board’s Music Group announced that Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane will be headlining this year’s Rites of Spring. The rest of the lineup is yet to be revealed.

This follows last year’s headliners Rae Sremmurd and the Shins and openers Ty Dolla $ign and St. Lucia.

Gucci Mane, often regarded as one of the originators of trap music, was released from prison in 2016 and has since dropped six new projects: 2016’s Everybody Looking, Woptober and The Return of East Atlanta Santa, and 2017’s Droptopwop, Mr. Davis and El Gato: The Human Glacier.
